Will you be there?

Welcome to our planning page!
We're very excited so many classmates chose to re-live the excitement and enthusiasm of our 50th reunion and our collective 70th Birthday Party, held at Wachusett Mountain Ski Lodge, on August 20, 2017.
Now it's time to acknowledge we are approaching another milestone: it's almost 55 years since we graduated from Wachusett Regional High School, way back in 1965.
Do you remember all our reunions? Here's a letter we plan to send classmates of what we recall from each reunion over the last half century.
Can you add to this list? [Send memories to thomasdresser@gmail.com]

Dear Classmate –
Time for an update on our next reunion: 55 in 2020.
We’ve been mulling over previous reunions as we plan our next event for the Wachusett Class of ’65.
1.) Who remembers as far back as 1970, when we met at Holden Hills? Were you there? It was well attended. We seem to recall awards were given out for special graduates, and Jeannie DiPerrio won the prize for most babies: 5 in 5 years.
2.) Do you recall the 1975 reunion, ten years out of high school? That was held at the Sheraton Lincoln Hotel in Worcester and was also well attended.
3.) 1980 was informal and we think at Legion Hall in West Boylston.
4. 1985 was at Holden Hills.
5.) 1990 was at Wachusett Country Club in West Boylston and was great and very well attended. Jack Laprade was MC and Tom Sawyer and Rod Osborne played in a live band. That was the last year Diana, Janice, Ann, Wendy et al organized the reunions after doing great work the first 25 years.
6.) 1995 was Holden Hills and Steve Pelletier came all the way from California to celebrate with us. For two of us the 1995 reunion stands out. Joyce Cournoyer and Tom Dresser re-met and our lives haven’t been the same since!
7.) 2000 was at the Nimrod Club and the Ken Hardley Playboys (Tom Sawyer and his group) played outside.
8.) 2005 was American Legion Hall in West Boylston and was quiet and not well attended.
9.) There was no reunion in 2010.
10.) In 2015 we celebrated 50 years since graduation at Val's. That was very well attended and great. Only issue was the venue was a bit small and no live music to dance, mix, and mingle. We did squeeze nearly 200 people into an intimate setting.
It’s wasn’t an official reunion, but we celebrated turning 70 with a big birthday bash at Wachusett Mountain in 2017. That was pretty special. Tommy Sawyer was back with his Rusty Buckets. The ski lift was a thrill. The cupcakes were delish …
We look forward to getting together again, in late August 2020, and ask two things from our loyal ‘mates. Would you email back any memories you have of any of the reunions, AND, importantly, can you confirm you’ll join us for 55 in 2020.
Looking forward,
Tom, Joyce, Gail, Sandy, Wendy, Mark, Janice, Jack and Maureen

“You say it’s your birthday
It’s my birthday too, yeah.”
The Beatles said it all, back in the 1960s. Now the class of ’65 wants to celebrate our collective birthday.
It turns out the majority of our class turns 70 this year. Yes, that’s right, we’re stepping into a new decade. That’s worthy of a celebration. And we found the perfect place to celebrate:
Wachusett Mountain Ski Lodge

WRHS Birthday Bash Planning Committee:

planning our 50th:
We put together a planning committee for our 50th reunion. Look for specifics about the reunion under Reunion Details.
Our first planning meeting was held in a condominium in the old Rice elementary school, in the center of town. We met in a former second grade classroom, now equipped with the luxuries 68 year olds require.
It was great to meet up with old friends, some classmates we hadn't conversed with in a half century. We got a few ideas started and agreed to meet after the first of the new year.
We have a data base, WRHS1965.com which lists classmates we are trying to locate. Send email contact info of fellow classmates to: 65wrhs@gmail.com. WRHS1965.com includes those people who plan to attend the reunion. And we have some people willing to sponsor ads to generate support for the reunion. For tickets to the reunion, and lodging for that weekend, visit WRHS1965.com. It's all there, waiting for you. Check out WRHS1965.com!
We have a Facebook page, WRHS65. We placed an invitation to the reunion on Classmates.com. We're off and running!
We have a date and a place for the reunion. Saturday September 19, 2015 at Val's Restaurant, Holden, MA., from 6 - 10 pm.
We look forward to seeing you there! [Val feels she cannot comfortably accommodate more than 175 people, so if you want to come, sign up soon! After July 25, 2015, you will be wait-listed.]
However, there are several other events over the course of the weekend which are available. See REUNION DETAILS.
The cost is $45 per person. You can pay by credit card or PayPal on WRHS1965.com or send a check for $45 per person to: Joyce Dresser, PO Box 749, Oak Bluffs, MA 02557 (joycedresser@aol.com)
What a lot of fun. For more fun, go to the Contact page for questions you may, or may not know the answers to. For example, did you know that the Class of '65 was the largest graduating class in the 1960s at Wachusett? [This year's class has 488 graduating seniors.]
As of July 28, 2015, we have 110 classmates who have registered to attend the reunion, along with 66 guests. By reunion time, we have 128 classmates and 68 guests signed up for the reunion. And it is still growing daily. Of the 402 students in our graduating class, we have located all with the exception of 26 missing 'mates. That's impressive!
